The American technology giant “Amazon” has announced plans to invest 11 billion dollars in the U.S. state of Georgia to expand and improve the artificial intelligence infrastructure of its “Amazon Web Services” (AWS) unit.
“Amazon” said that this “cloud” unit plans to invest 11 billion dollars to expand its infrastructure in Georgia to support cloud computing technologies and artificial intelligence.
The investment is expected to create at least 550 high-skilled new jobs.
“Amazon” stated that productive artificial intelligence is increasing the demand for advanced cloud infrastructure for digital data storage and emphasized that AWS investments will support the future of artificial intelligence in data centers in Georgia.
“AWS data centers are flexible enough to efficiently run graphic processing units for traditional workloads or artificial intelligence and machine learning models,” said “Amazon,” adding that this modern artificial intelligence infrastructure will strengthen the state’s position as an innovation hub.
The investments made by “Amazon” and the employment it has created were appreciated, as the company has invested 18.5 billion dollars in the state since 2010.
Major technology companies are distributing their resources to enhance their capabilities in artificial intelligence infrastructure. Last week, the technology giant Microsoft announced that it plans to invest 80 billion dollars in artificial intelligence technologies by 2025.
