Vangjel Koja, the legend of Albanian volleyball, has passed away at the age of 91. A prominent figure in sports, Koja began his career as an athlete and later excelled in basketball and volleyball, ultimately becoming the coach of the renowned Dinamo team. As the men’s volleyball coach for Dinamo, he not only achieved national championship titles but also built a team that made its mark on the European stage. His unparalleled dedication and commitment to the sport made him a valuable icon for younger generations.

Tributes in his honor will be held this Monday at the Church of Shën Sotiri in Korçë, where family, friends, and the sports community will bid farewell to one of the brightest figures in Albanian sports. His legacy in volleyball and his role as a mentor for young athletes will always be remembered. Farewell, master! May the earth rest lightly on you!

At the premises of the Prefecture, the Technical Roundtable on Anti-Trafficking convened as part of the National Action Plan Against Human Trafficking 2024-2025 (approved by Decision No. 458, dated 10.07.2024).

During the meeting, several awareness-raising and educational activities that could be carried out by state institutions and partner organizations throughout October—designated as “Anti-Human Trafficking Month”—were discussed.

The activities will alternate in a shared calendar, which will be approved by the Directorate of Anti-Trafficking and Migration Policies at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“Together with the Mayor of Maliqi, Mr. Gëzim Topçiu, and representatives from the municipality, we held a meeting with the Administrator of ‘Statkraft’ in Albania, Ms. Rigela Gegprifti, who was accompanied by the company’s Finance Director, Mr. Jan Erik Felle, and the head of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment team, Mr. Jorn Stave.

• The company is currently conducting the first phase of the consultation process regarding the preliminary study of a strategic investment worth approximately 1.2 billion euros, which will be realized in our region by 2030-2031. This involves the construction of “RP Moglica Shtesë,” a large hydropower plant with a pumped storage system, as part of the Devoll Hydropower Project concession.
• This significant investment will have a very important impact, not only on the energy security of our region but also at the national and international levels. In this meeting, I emphasized the importance and necessity of considering the community’s requests regarding not just minimizing negative environmental effects but also improving infrastructure and biodiversity for the benefit of local communities.
• Energy remains a priority for the Albanian government, as part of a policy aimed at creating security and ease in a stable energy market, ensuring a development perspective with even greater economic impact.”

We are always used to seeing the famous Korçar physiotherapist Jorgo Pantazi recovering football players in record time. Just a few days ago, he successfully rehabilitated not one, but five players quickly.

Today, we bring you the photo above, where Dr. Jorgo Pantazi is seen with the famous Korçar singer and one of the most devoted fans of Skënderbeu, Klajdi Haruni.

It has been reported that Haruni sustained an injury in his midsection and completed his rehabilitation with Pantazi, getting ready for the concerts he has scheduled throughout Albania. Jorgo Pantazi stated for our portal: “Klajdi had pain in his midsection from dancing ‘Ujku’ during his shows, and he was in the clinic to recover.”

The premature passing of former deputy Gert Bogdani has saddened the entire public. The 44-year-old, known as a great football enthusiast, passed away today after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The President of the Albanian Football Federation, Armand Duka, expressed his condolences to the Bogdani family for this significant loss, acknowledging Gerti’s contributions to Albanian politics and society throughout his career.

“I am shocked by the news of Gert Bogdani’s untimely passing. This is a painful moment for his family, friends, and all those who had the fortune to know a person of extraordinary values like Gerti. He was a rare personality, with integrity and unparalleled dedication, who made important contributions to Albanian politics. At the same time, he was also a great football fan, regularly attending Albanian stadiums as a supporter.

His loss leaves a great void, but his legacy will live on in the memories of all those who appreciated his big heart and commitment to Albania. In these difficult moments, I extend my deepest condolences to the Bogdani family and all his relatives. May he rest in peace!” President Duka wrote in his message published on social media.

Former PD deputy Gerti Bogdani suffered a cardiac arrest and subsequently passed away.

Bogdani experienced the cardiac arrest at the “Rogner” hotel in Tirana.

Members of the Democratic Party left the meeting and rushed urgently to UHC.

Bogdani was in critical condition and could not survive the cardiac arrest.
