What happens to the body if you eat mandarins every day? Learn about their nutritional values

Date:

Mandarins are the most popular and sought-after fruit in the market during the upcoming season.

The antioxidants found in mandarins help reduce bad cholesterol and eliminate free radicals from the body. Rich in fiber, mandarins also promote weight loss.

According to reports, consuming mandarins regularly can help regulate your blood pressure and maintain better balance. The vitamin C in this flavorful fruit combats colds and flu while strengthening the immune system.

Vitamin C and Iron Absorption

Consuming mandarins or other vitamin C-rich foods after eating iron-rich products significantly improves the body’s ability to absorb this essential mineral.

Eating mandarins is one of the best natural ways to protect your heart and reduce cholesterol levels in the blood. The citrus compounds prevent oxidative damage in your arteries and help maintain blood vessel elasticity. Citrus fruits, in general, are beneficial for heart health.

European Markets Seeking Albanian Mandarins

Albania is emerging as a strong competitor in the European market for mandarins, alongside Italy, Greece, and Spain. Currently, farmers from Konispoli have begun intensively harvesting and preparing crates for export to European markets.

Almost half of Albania’s mandarin production supplies the domestic market, while the other half caters to the growing demands of European markets, which are increasingly turning to Albania for seasonal supplies of mandarins.

The demand from European markets continues to grow, prompting farmers from Konispoli to take additional steps to expand their cultivation of this golden winter fruit.

Mandarins from Xara – A Success Story

Xara, located in Saranda, operates as a collection and distribution hub for mandarins, utilizing approximately 800 hectares of land for this purpose, with over 450,000 trees planted.

The production reaches up to 16,000 tons, and while taking care of the mandarins, Xara also provides seasonal employment to around 400 workers. Workers come from various towns, such as Berat, Fier, Lushnjë, and Librazhdi. They earn between 1,500 and 2,000 Albanian lek per day during the harvesting season.
