Everyone is interested in whether the match will be played in Korça, where Skëndërbeu will host Vllaznia. This is naturally linked to the weather conditions, and more specifically to the snow that has covered the stadium.
A few days ago, the snow thickness was up to 15 cm, and naturally, the temperatures were low, which caused the snow to remain. However, the situation has now changed, as temperatures have risen and in the late afternoon, they reached 3 degrees Celsius.
This change has brought a noticeable improvement: the snow has started to melt, and the thickness in the stadium has decreased to about 5 cm, which means the snow is starting to disappear. Tomorrow, even higher temperatures are expected, so the good news is that the snow will completely melt from the field.
According to the stadium management, there could have been an intervention to remove the snow with motorized equipment, but this could have damaged the pitch, so it has been decided to wait a few more days before taking such an action.
The snow is also being removed from the track area to avoid water accumulation, so the drainage systems will work more effectively, which is a much safer approach. It is hoped that by Sunday everything will be ready, and the match Skëndërbeu – Vllaznia will take place as scheduled.
